This is a key element of focus for Clubhouse. The audio social app quickly raced up the download charts earlier in the year, but has since seen a slowdown in adoption, as displayed in the latest chart from app analytics platform Sensor Tower.

At the same time, competitors are on the rise. Twitter's Spaces, the app's biggest competition thus far, launched an initial public beta test on Android early last month, while Facebook, LinkedIn and Reddit are all also, reportedly, developing their own audio social options.

I have had a S20 FE 5G for a while now, and taking pictures from a social media always results in bad photo quality. Not from compression, but just the overall blurriness, shakiness, and noise. From my understanding these apps can't optimize the camera quality for every Android, because there are far too many. They use a "one size fits all" where it is a low standard for compatibility. I don't understand why these 3rd party apps can't use the default camera app (Such as Camera app on Samsung phones) which is already optimized for that device. Can they not get direct feed from the app that has built in camera optimizations? If they implemented that, then they wouldn't even have to tweak iPhone quality to perfection when they come out, because it would be using the built in iOS camera. What would it take for this to happen, and could it even work this way?

I want to seriously get into social media vlogging, just as a hobby. I don't think I could make money off it. I'm also into digital marketing as a profession, (starting a position as an entry-level social media specialist in january)

I'm not sure about the newer android flagships because I never had one. But I'm looking on YouTube and it seems like the iPhone's front-facing video beats android in everything except night videos. Never had an iphone before, so not sure how it would feel.

Just saw that Millie Bobby Brown is memed for having an Android (Samsung). I checked her TikTok and the quality is indeed not super great and the people in the comments were memeing her. Why do social media apps work like this on Android? It's just unfair and it hurts Android OEMs imo.

Across the countries surveyed, the 7% median of those who share, rather than own, a mobile phone cite a number of reasons for why they share their phones. About four-in-ten phone sharers in Kenya (42%), Venezuela (40%) and Tunisia (38%) say they share a phone primarily because they cannot afford their own device. Another half of Venezuelan sharers say they now share a phone because their own phone was lost, broken or stolen, as do about four-in-ten Colombians (41%) and Kenyans (41%). Not needing to use a mobile phone regularly is a commonly cited reason for sharing a phone in India (39%) and the Philippines (29%).

Smartphones, or phones that can connect to the internet and run apps, are the most prevalent type of mobile device in nine of the 11 countries surveyed: A majority of adults (median of 53%) report using a smartphone. Usage is highest in Lebanon (86%) and Jordan (85%), and lowest in India (32%).

Among the seven online social media platforms and messaging apps asked about on this survey, a median of 62% use Facebook. Facebook is most popular in Jordan and Lebanon, where about seven-in-ten adults say they currently use it. Although India has the smallest percentage of Facebook users (24%) of the countries surveyed, the country also has the largest net number of active Facebook users in the world.

Respondents were asked about their use of seven different social media platforms and messaging apps. These platforms were chosen based on three criteria: high usage rates, input from local survey organizations and to capture a range of different types of sites with distinctive features. The seven platforms included are:

In most of the 11 countries analyzed, a majority of adults report using at least one of the seven social media platforms or messaging apps included in this survey. This type of online activity is especially common in Lebanon, Jordan, Colombia and Mexico, where about three-quarters or more use at least one of these services.

Although it is common to use at least one of these platforms, relatively few adults (median of 20%) say they currently use three or more social media platforms or messaging apps. This level of use is most common in Lebanon and Jordan, where about four-in-ten say they use three or more of these apps (42% and 38%, respectively). About three-in-ten say the same in Venezuela (31%), Colombia (29%) and Mexico (27%). People in India (9%), the Philippines (9%) and Vietnam (5%) are the least likely to report using three or more of these apps.

For adults who only use one of the social media platforms or messaging apps included in this survey, two services dominate: Facebook and WhatsApp. Single-platform users rarely report using any of the other five services included in the survey.

In most of the countries surveyed, relatively few people (median of 34%) have access to a desktop computer, laptop or tablet in their household. The exception is Lebanon, where a majority of adults (57%) say they have access to such a device. As with most other measures of technological connectedness, those who are younger and more educated are generally more likely to have access to a computer or tablet at home.

Anywhere from 28% (in India) to 52% (in Jordan) of adults in these countries use the internet in some fashion but do not have a computer or tablet at home. And a median of 27% of adults in these countries say they do not have a tablet or computer at home but do have a smartphone, ranging from a low of 18% in Venezuela to a high of 50% in Jordan.

For those of us who really need help to focus on our work or studies, app blockers can be a lifesaver. Getting an app that blocks social media can be a huge benefit. Luckily, some geniuses out there have developed app blockers that do just that.

I have a weird problem that happened to one of my android device the other day. I enrolled the device in SMC and when all the policies applied, certain apps such as viber, facebook messanger, instagram, few betting apps that were installed on my colleagues personal android mobile, were automatically disabled. They weren't uninstalled, just disabled. The thing is that I don't forbid these apps through SMC. In fact, I don't forbid any specific app at all. I have few other devices that are also android and iOS, they do have viber installed on them, but are not disabled. Users can use them without any problem. The only difference that I have noticed is that when I enrolled this device (that has disabled apps) I enrolled it after I applied new Sophos Mobile version 8.1 (few months ago, not recently). The other devices that I've enrolled, were when I had Sophos Mobile version 8.0 at the time. Could this be some bug in the new version?
Also, I managed to find temporary workaround for this problem, I had to change my compliance policy for personal devices to allow suspicious and malware apps and also apps installed from unknown sources (the policy will only alert me if such apps are installed on the device, but it won't block email access) and the thing is I don't want to allow them. Can you help me?
