I used to use the laptop for gaming about 2 years ago but stopped. Now I'm trying to get back into those same games and have found that they are incredibly slow - even with graphics at minimal. Some of the games tell me that my "graphics drivers are 597 days old" - which would match the date being shown as my driver date (5/19/2016). The problem is that when I go to intel to update my graphics driver, none of the ones I try (which I believe match my specifications) will successfully download because it tells me I don't "meet minimum requirements". When I try using the intel driver and support assistant, it tells me that there are no updates available. How can my graphics drivers be 597 days old with no updates available? Have intel stopped releasing graphics driver updates for my graphics card/processor?
I am resigned to the fact that I will probably have to purchase a new laptop in order to get a better gaming experience, but I just wanted to check whether I was missing anything obvious first. I'd appreciate any advice or assistance on whether I actually do have the most up to date graphics driver available to me or, if not, how I can go about installing one more up to date.
I have the same query and would like more info. My gaming manufacturer (Big Fish) after performing a diagnostics, directed me to an update for my Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Service Pack 1, Toshiba Portege that has the Intel (R) HD Graphics 3000 installed; Driver Date 7/13/2015, Version 9.17.104229. When I tried to make the recommended installation I received this error message: "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the win64_15.36344889.exe software." All devices I have checked say, "The device is working properly."
My real question is what, other than the graphics driver, would prevent my computer from downloading new games and not responding when clicking on a downloaded game. If the device is working properly, but is no longer supported by Intel, can that still be why I can no longer download and install these games?
As an aside, I ran this computer in Safe Mode and was able to open two games, Scrabble and Burger Shop 2. The former has no graphics to speak of. The latter has limited graphics. , Unfortunately, I do not know what to do with this information to fix the problem.
I have a 5 year old Inspiron laptop with the i3 2.40ghz 2370m processor and Intel HD 3000 graphics card. It NEVER made the list as being supported for Windows 10 by Dell or Intel. I UPGRADED ANYWAY to Windows 10 when it was released. I have had a great experience with only a few driver issues. Mostly during the first year W10 was released. Last few months I've been using a 4k HDR TV as my primary display w/HDMI. I noticed when I 1st connected it with the newer 2.0 HDMI cable the card read the resolutions it could use that my TV supports like wider xvYCC EXTENDED GAMUT. The result is a wider and deeper range of color overall.
TODAY I SUCCESSFULLY SET A CUSTOM RESOLUTION WITHIN THE INTEL GRAPHICS AND MEDIA CONTROL PANEL TO 3840X21260, REFRESH 30HZ, CVT-RB TIMING. I tried many different refresh rates but 30hz is highest the card accepted. I'll see over the next few weeks how the lower refresh affects viewing. I HOPE THIS HELPS OTHERS WHO MIGHT HAVE A SIMILAR SITUATION! I WAS THINKING OF GETTING A NEWER COMPUTER THAT SUPPORTS 4K BEFORE I TRIED THIS! THE DRIVER IS 9.17.10.4459

-First I tried automatically updating my drivers, but when I scanned I got the message: A customized computer manufacturer driver is installed on your computer. The Intel Driver Update Utility is not able to update the driver. Installing a generic Intel driver instead of the costumized computer manufacturer driver may cause techincal issues.Contact your computer manufacturer for the latest driver for your computer.
-So I decided I would try and download a generic driver, but I can't find one that works. I went to the downloadcenter. Select a product > Grapic drivers > I couldn't find my processor graphics in the list you can choose from there. So I decided I would just download the most populair ones, but they all gave me the error of my system not meeting the minimum requirements to run the software.
Let's try installing the driver with the following method; -drivers/000005629.html Manually Install an Intel Graphics Driver in Windows 10 and Windows... . Find the latest driver from our end here; -Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-15-45-?product=98909 Download Intel Graphics Driver for Windows* [15.45].
I only have my GTX 1070 as a option under display adapters. Not Intel HD graphics (of course ) or Basic display adapter. Upon trying to install, again........... "This computer does not meet the requirements to install this software" I have tried every driver I could find. I have downloaded all the chipset drivers from Asus.
/thread/111614 James2406, in that case this changes the scenario. Bear in mind that whenever you add a graphics card to the motherboard it will disable the graphics provided by the processor unless you have a feature in the BIOS that can provide you to choose between them. That is the reason why you are not able to see the Intel HD Graphics 630 on the device manager when the graphics card is plugged on the motherboard.
I had 10.04 installed on my Thinkpad r61 with Compiz Manager and life was great, until the machine took water damage. I bought an ASUS (X54H) since and am trying out 12.04, but the desktop just doesn't look right.
I will greatly appreciate your help. I want to use Linux more, but like I said video drivers appear to be my biggest concern. I have also tried 12.04 on my desktop PC, but again failed to configure video card, so switched back to Windows 7.
The Intel graphics driver is part of the xserver-xorg-video-intel driver package, which is installed on all Ubuntu systems by default. And since it isn't a proprietary driver package, it doesn't show up in jockey (aka the Hardware Drivers application).
After a restart, artifacts began to appear on screen, windows extended out towards the bottom of the screen, pixels randomly colored, and generally violent images were made out of a plain Windows 7 desktop. After a few seconds, I can no longer move my mouse and the computer appears frozen, the screen turns black, then I see my desktop again (still with artifacts) along with a notification on the bottom right that says "Display Driver Stopped Responding and Has Recovered" and the screen turns black and the cycle repeats a few times until I get a blue screen that indicates that "igdkmd64.sys" is related to the blue screen.
Well, I don't want to waste any more of anyone's time and I think I've brought this case to a close. I installed Fedora 28 and I saw IDENTICAL artifacts, this is a hardware issue. I don't entirely understand how Intel Integrated Graphics Work but I imagine that without Graphics Drivers there is a fallback graphics mode that doesn't use the integrated chip or something like that, and my integrated graphics chip is fried. Thanks for the help, you can close this thread.
I successfully flashed the bios update and reinstalled the latest generic drivers available. Now the computer no longer BSODs. But, the artifacts still remain, and with less frequency (every minute or so instead of every 10 seconds) the driver crashes and the screen goes black.
Now, I don't know what made this Window appear because it doesn't appear every time the driver crashes, but I got one of those windows error reporting windows informing me that 'igfxEM.exe' had crashed with the following log or crash report (not sure what it's called) and here's the 'report'
Some notes that are not relevant to troubleshooting this problem, but are helpful for posterity's sake if anyone else has the same issue and is using this thread as instructions (for Windows 7 Users):
The Lenovo website indicates that the BIOS update is for Windows 8, 8.1 and 10 but not 7, you can most likely safely ignore this. But, you WILL run in to this problem flashing the new BIOS if you are a Windows 7 User: The Flash COMPLETELY resets all BIOS settings. In order to run Windows 7, you had to have changed your Boot Mode in your BIOS settings to Legacy. This means after flashing you will no longer be able to boot into Windows 7 and you might see a message saying "Start PXE over IPV4..." You have to enter the BIOS Menu and change your Boot Mode back to legacy.
Well, in case it's the latter I've attached the report with 3rd party incl, I ran the utility with the Beta Drivers Installed, let me know if I should run it with different drivers installed or under different conditions.
