Austin ACM SIGKDD Monthly Summary

The last meeting for Map Reduce Design Patterns will be May 29, 2013, at 7:00 at Northwest Recreation Center. We are going to stop at the end of chapter 5. We have been meeting weekly for five months. It has been very informative on learning how to use Hadoop. Please come to the last meeting to wrap up the study.

Next fall I am looking at putting a course together on machine learning and Hadoop. We have an offer from a professor in the UT ECE department to meet in the ECE department for the course. Alternatively, I am investigating offering the course through UT informal classes for a small fee. Stay tuned for more details.
