JOWO Workshops
The mission of the Joint Ontology Workshops (JOWO) is to facilitate collaboration among diverse communities interested in building, reasoning with, and applying formal ontologies in information sciences, artificial intelligence theory and applications, philosophy and cognitive science, and beyond. From cultural heritage, cybersecurity, and food systems to law, healthcare, and large language models — JOWO 2025 brings together a diverse and interdisciplinary set of workshops exploring the many ways ontologies connect with science, society, and technology.

Submission deadline: 25 May – 1 June, depending on the workshop

Ontology Showcase
While a variety of ontologies from a wide range of domains are being developed in the Applied Ontology community, lack of awareness about them may lead to ontology silos, hindering opportunities for synergy and collaboration. The Ontology Showcase at FOIS gives authors the opportunity to present their ongoing work to receive early feedback from the community as well as published work promoting collaboration among ongoing and mature projects. This initiative encourages sharing and reuse of curated high-quality ontologies.

Submission deadline: 25 May 2025

Demonstrations
The demonstration track complements FOIS 2025 full-length paper main tracks by offering an interactive platform for authors to present and discuss their work. We invite demonstrations of tools and methods developed using ontologies, as well as those to create, maintain, integrate, publish, evaluate, and implement ontologies. We also invite demonstrations of novel ontology (anti)patterns and of challenges arising in the ontology engineering life cycle. The goal is to raise the visibility and foster understanding of the dynamic, integrative, and use-oriented aspects of applied ontology, its tools, and its uses.

Submission deadline: 25 May 2025
