Any recommendations, suggestions, preferences for using one over the other for https://schema.org/additionalType?

For example:

I have older json-ld that uses the productontology id's, which I like because it has the term (ie; baseball") in it and is easy to read. Wondering if converting these to the Wikidata entity would have real advantages?

Thanks!!

If you're doing it for SEO reasons then I'm afraid the harsh truth is that there currently is no method for determining whether adding such information has any real world advantages given the fact none of the search engines have made any statements about consuming such data, nor do either of them provide any data that helps one to get such insights. Of course, theoretically there's plenty of justification to be made for providing such information, but I'm afraid it's just that, 'theoretically'. So unless a search engine representative steps into this discussion to make a groundbreaking statement there's not much anybody can say about which would be better to use.
