Hi all,

I am working with an academic publisher, which is a part of Google Scholar, and we are seeing errors in the markup for the scholarly article on staging (we are migrating the site).

Particularly in most cases, the organization field is throwing an error as it’s currently pulling through the name + address of the author’s organization (not displaying the publisher as the “organization”.

I am just curious about the impact of this error since fixing the issue might be substantial. Will the error mean that the engines won’t see the article as a scholarly article? Previously this publisher was appearing at the top of the SERPs for scholarly articles with ZERO markup in place.

They are using RFDA markup, and we are testing with Screaming Frog.

Does anyone else has a sense of whether this is worth pursuing/fixing?

Katherine
