Does anyone know if there's an issue with posting sameas markup and listing multiple of the same social media handles? I'm working with a big brand that has more than one FB and Twitter handle.

Thanks in advance for your help.

In the past Google did look at sameAs to help it determine social profiles for its knowledge graph. That has been dropped. Eligible entities can now suggest their social profiles in a different way:

Eligible entities will be able to suggest the addition of new, or edit existing, social profiles.

Google still says they may use sameAs, but are unclear about how/when:

In addition to the properties and objects documented here, Google can make general use of the sameAs property and other schema.org structured data. Some of these elements may be used to enable future Search features, if they are deemed useful.

I'd suspect there is no issue in listing more than one social profile from the same platform. As long as they all represent the same thing.

The value you provide to a schema:sameAs property (relation) is the URL of a document that identifies the relation subject. You can achieve the same effect, with less confusion using a schema:mainEntityOfPage relation.  Basically, Google can use such relations as input for its identity determination algorithms (which is doesn't share with the public).

What I outline above re schema:sameAs is quite different from owl:sameAs which is used for asserting co-reference  i.e., that the subject and object of an owl:sameAs relation identify the same entity.

Formally stated:

schema:sameAs owl:differentFrom owl:sameAs .

Hi Kingsley

Thank you for all your updates.

I have a question in regards to FAcebook disabling our business account and of course my own personal account.

I am at a loss - Facebook has deactivated my account and I have done every angle to get it back. I really don't know what else to do and it's upsetting as we are already struggling with after COVID and now having this happen with no explanation I am at a loss at what to do?

Do you have a contact or suggestions I have tried everything from getting them to SMS me which I haven't received and last week I waited 4 days to have to try to get the SMS again? Any help would be amazing!

Sorry for taking up precious time but I really have no idea what I can do

Thanks heaps

Kind Regards
