Hi,

I imagine at least some of you have seen this elsewhere by now, but
the LOCAH project

http://blogs.ukoln.ac.uk/locah/

has this week released an initial sample dataset derived from a subset
of the Archives Hub's collection of EAD data as Linked Data. The home
page for the dataset is

http://data.archiveshub.ac.uk/

The project manager, Adrian Stevenson, provides some more information

http://blogs.ukoln.ac.uk/locah/2011/05/09/archives-hub-linked-data-release/

The data is hosted in an instance of the Talis Platform triple store

http://www.talis.com/platform/

I tried to detail the RDF vocabularies used in the dataset here:

http://blogs.ukoln.ac.uk/locah/2011/03/17/describing-the-%E2%80%9Cthings%E2%80%9D-the-rdf-terms-used-part-2/

And I wrote up a few sample SPARQL queries yesterday:

http://blogs.ukoln.ac.uk/locah/2011/05/10/querying-the-linked-archives-hub-data-using-sparql/

This is still something of a "first cut": we're aware that there are
still some "rough edges" in the data, and we plan to do more work on
adding links to other resources, but we're pleased to have got this
"out there" for others to have a look at.

I'll try to get the EAD-to-RDF/XML XSLT transform we used on to the
data.archiveshub.ac.uk server, and I'll post that on the LOCAH blog,
probably early next week.

Any thoughts or comments welcome, either here or on the LOCAH blog.

Cheers
Pete
