Non-folding personal vehicles are always permitted on buses using bicycle racks on the front or with underfloor luggage compartments on a first-come, first-served basis. If space is not available, passengers with any type of personal vehicle must wait for the next available bus.

Bus operators may limit personal vehicles when buses are crowded or when they believe it creates an unsafe situation.

Bike racks are available on all buses in the NJ TRANSIT Southern Division (generally the area from Princeton/Trenton to Atlantic City and south). Bike racks are available on most buses through Central and Northern NJ.

Regular bikes and e-bikes are not permitted on the bicycle racks on buses traveling into NYC.

Allow other passengers to exit and enter NJ TRANSIT vehicles before boarding or exiting with a personal vehicle. Passengers must be able to lift their personal vehicle up and down stairs while boarding and deboarding vehicles.

If space is not available, passengers with personal vehicles must wait for the next available NJ TRANSIT vehicle. Senior citizens and persons with disabilities have priority over the accessible area. Passengers with personal vehicles may need to deboard and wait for the next available vehicle if a person with disabilities requires the accessible area.

Bicycle kickstands must always remain up when on board NJ TRANSIT vehicles.

TRAINS: For larger personal vehicles, secure it with tiedowns in the accessible area of the rail car as shown on the diagram at that location. Passengers may alternatively hold and steady a personal vehicle that is not secured by tiedowns.

BUSES: If using a bicycle rack, notify the bus operator before loading or unloading the personal vehicle. For safety reasons, the bus operator cannot get off the bus to assist passengers with personal vehicles but will be able to give instructions.

If a NJ TRANSIT employee or an employee of an entity under contract to NJ TRANSIT considers a personal vehicle to be a safety hazard, or if a NJ TRANSIT vehicle is too crowded, the employee may not allow the personal vehicle on board.

At NJ TRANSIT facilities, use stairways, ramps, or elevators to gain access to station platforms. Do not use escalators. Walk personal vehicles when passing through stations.

Personal vehicles and batteries may not block doors, aisles, or safety equipment. They also may not be left unaccompanied, be placed on empty seats, or cause inconvenience to other passengers.

Personal vehicles are transported at the owner's risk. NJ TRANSIT is not responsible for personal vehicles that are lost, stolen or damaged while on board any NJ TRANSIT vehicle or at any NJ TRANSIT facility.

Passengers with personal vehicles assume all liability for any damage or injury to persons or property resulting from, or in connection with, the carriage of a personal vehicle on NJ TRANSIT trains, buses or light rail vehicles, or at or near any facility used in connection with NJ TRANSIT services.

NJ TRANSIT provides free parking capacity for over 3,000 personal vehicles at stations and park & rides. Bike racks are located at about 90 percent of the train stations in New Jersey, at several bus park ride lots, bus terminals, and at most Hudson-Bergen Light Rail and River LINE stations. Passengers must provide their own locks and assume responsibility for their personal vehicles. Click here to find bicycle rack location information.

Enclosed, locked bike lockers are available for long-term rental at a number of locations. These provide parking for about 350 personal vehicles. Rentals are administered locally by Transportation Management Associations or municipalities. Contact the organizations shown below concerning lockers at the following stations or park/rides:

Passengers with personal vehicles must follow direction from the train crew, bus or light rail operator, other authorized personnel, police, local authorities and/or fire officials. If an emergency should occur, passengers may be required to leave their personal vehicles onboard. Personal vehicles are not permitted on substitute bus service.

ProPark View-Thru Units are available as a stand alone bike locker or extended into rows with Adder Units. Each unit can accommodate one or two bikes and can be specified as a single sided door option for limited access.

The Kangaroo Luxe is designed with safety and comfort in mind. It features a unique Torsion Suspension System that is built into the lightweight front frame, maximizing both comfort and safety. This system allows the bike to move freely over uneven terrain while reducing vibrations felt by the rider and passengers in the cabin. Additionally, it enables the front of the bike to lean while cornering delivering a more responsive ride.

The Cabin Hood has four windows and a rear panel that can be opened. Additionally, it has a sunroof at the top which can be opened to easily keep an eye on children while cycling. When the sunroof and side windows are open, fresh air can easily circulate within the cargo bike cabin, making it cool and comfortable on hot days. These openings are designed for external access to prevent the risk of childrens hands sticking out into traffic.

The canopy is made from water-repellent fabric, and the durable YKK zippers make it easy to open and close the front and windows. The rear panel also opens easily and has a large mesh pocket, providing access to the storage compartment behind the seats.

The Child Seat Luxe makes it comfortable for your child to take a nap on the way home. The mesh seats can be reclined into a resting position for added comfort if your child should fall asleep on the way home. With a Quick Release Clamp under the Child Seat, you can also easily place the seat facing forwards or backwards as you please.

The seats come as standard with a 5-point Harness recommended for children to provide extra security when riding a cargo bike. As your children grow older, you can change it into just using the included Hip Harness. The Child Seat in the Kangaroo Luxe makes the ride even more comfortable for the child as the mesh structure provides suspension in addition to the built-in torsion suspension. It's ideal when you use your cargo bike frequently and for longer rides.

Our cabin bases are formed in strong impact-resistant PE or PSPE material without any sharp edges. This enhances child comfort and safety during the ride. The front frame of Winther cargo bikes is engineered to effectively distribute and transfer impact forces.

For increased child safety, the Kangaroo Luxe features a low seat position in the cabin. This restricts the field of vision of the smallest passengers in a calming manner and also prevents them from reaching out during the ride.

All seat solutions in the Kangaroo Luxe are equipped with a 5-point harness as standard, ensuring that everyone is securely fastened during the ride. All baby seat solutions in Winther cargo bikes are rear facing for increased safety.

Behind the seats, there is plenty of space for storing schoolbags, groceries, and other items, ensuring a balanced weight distribution for stable rides. It also prevents overcrowding in the cabin. A zipper closure at the back provides easy access to the storage compartment, and the mesh pocket at the back allows for convenient storage of smaller items such as gloves, snacks and water bottles.

With the Quick Release Clamp situated beneath the Child Seat Luxe, you can quickly customize the size of the storage compartment to suit your needs. If you need to go big shopping, you can easily move one or both seats forward to maximize space behind the seats. With a snap you can also quickly remove the seats entirely and then you will have lots of room for groceries etc.

The Cabin has a low entrance, making it easy for children to get in and out of the cabin by themselves. This saves adults from having to perform many lifts. Additionally, it's a great way to encourage children to explore and be independent.

Kangaroo Luxe has one of the smallest turning circles on the market, enabling it to make tight turns in confined spaces and even perform U-turns. The lightweight aluminum frame enhances maneuverability, making it a pleasure to ride.

The stable 3-wheeled platform ensures high stability while loading and unloading. Parking the bike is made simple with the 3-wheel design - activating the parking brake on the Hydraulic Disc System locks the two front wheels, allowing you to safely leave the bike on any terrain.

The handlebar on the Kangaroo Luxe is adjustable to suit every rider. We are all different, and with an adjustable handlebar, it's easy to find a perfect cycling position. Maybe you need to share the bike with a companion who is much smaller or taller than you? No problem with the adjustable handlebar.
