Role: Service Desk Engg
Location: NYC,NY 10001
6 Months Contract
 
The Systems Service Desk Engineer will be part of the IT Service Management team that provides operations and support services; proactively finding and addressing issues. The individual must be comfortable working in a very fast paced, busy environment in the rapidly growing client base.
 
Responsibilities include on-going maintenance and support. 
Tasks include responding to end-user reported incidents, managing application access requests, creating knowledge base documentation. Individual will engage clients through Help Desk phone queue, email, and in-person while working independently at the client site.
 
Required Skills
•Minimum 3 years in IT
•Excellent interpersonal and phone communication skills.
•Experience with Microsoft Exchange; a thorough understanding of SMTP is desired
•Understanding of Active Directory principles, management and best practices
•Anti-virus, anti-spyware, and anti-spam applications for Windows and Linux operating systems
•Understanding of basic and advanced networking concepts and protocols (IP addressing/subnet masks, DHCP, DNS, NTP, etc.) and network diagnostic tools (protocol analysis with tcpdump/Wireshark)
•Knowledge of transport mechanisms including FTP, SSH/SCP, HTTP, SSL
 
Mandatory software
•MICROSOFT OFFICE/ EXCHANGE (2013 201, or 2007)
•IPhone, Android
 
In addition, ideal but not mandatory certifications:
•A+
•N+
•MCP/MCSA/MCSE
•Bonus points for Citrix VDI support experience
•VMWare ESX experience (rebooting a VM/remotely accessing via vcenter)
