Hello all,

Adel asked a really interesting question but I think I'm going to
reframe it (ask it a different way) as we want to make sure we are
generating discussion.

What ways of teaching are most beneficial for you? Do you enjoy class
discussions, teacher-led exercises, watching videos, textbook
exercises....what types of activities do you get the MOST out of in
class?

Going along with this question, Adel was curious about what type of
teacher personality you most enjoy and feel you learn the most from?

I would ask that we please NOT mention teacher names. We can discuss
what works best for us without talking about specific teachers.

Properly the subject of a good and important here not to mention the
names of teachers

English has evolved and I'm in the level2 I would expect that in
return can see Filam and At times speak in Classic outside the scope
of the lesson in any subject and Speak and talk with friends in
English

Hi everyone,

I am sure that any course has not managed to catch perfect teaching
method yet. The fundamental reason of this phenomenon depends on
differences of students' tendency in the way of learning English. I
was really lucky. I started learning English from zero that is starts
with alphabet as you know. Totally, it took less than a year months to
reach this level in my education, but the active learning can be a bit
lower than this total time. This short time can look like very
impressive for many of you like the some ELI teachers. However, we
were exposed a different learning method in Turkey by the masters of
English. Some of them have many official prizes on the English all
around the world. There is almost no teacher under the PhD degree, and
there is no teacher who had not been in a native country in the world.
Maybe, you can ask me why you are here. The answer includes some
reasons, but the main one is speaking. Although we spoke English in
all classes, it was not enough, and there is no extra opportunity
having much more speaking experience. I am not sure, but this is very
important to expose English in its center. I also met a few very
impressive teacher at ELI although I did not estimate this meeting
when I was new here. I do not understand why all teachers do not have
PhD degree.

Sometimes, you have no chance at ELI to warn teacher for his/her
mistake. Somehow, this behavior have been accepted as a unconventional
behavior at ELI. On the other hand, minority of them that I have seen
up to today accepts and correct themselves without any extra sentences
like "Do not try to correct me, I am a native.". That can be perfect
to see teacher with strong self confidence, and easy for them to say "
YES YOU ARE RIGHT.

I have seen perfect enjoyable classes for 2 session. No body can
deny that the attractiveness of class depends on teacher who should
have many experience to solve the student psychology in order to see
the gaps, and fill them easily. If teacher has not enough experience
to deal with it -of course- it also depends on the also students'
personality.

I want to express that I am not a genius, but I have been exposed
the correct method with the enormous effort of my teacher. I am sure
that there is someone who can learn this language perfectly in 6
months. Actually, I know someone like this.

My friends, listening can be a key in your success. I listened about
3 months English parts without understanding even a sentence. After
the 3 months, it turns of me as a positive reflection by emerging
itself in my dreams. I started to have dreams in English every day.
After the 4 months, the time is over. I started to repeat sentence at
the same time with the speaker on the radio. Then, all the standard
basic patterns placed in my brain.

Lastly, I believe that interacting a native person is much much
better than interacting many people like me and you. It is helpless to
hear a speech with full of grammatical mistakes. We have already tried
to correct way to connection. That's why, it is important to copy your
teachers' speech, emotional patterns.

All ideas, which I wrote above, shows my own viewpoint. I am sure
that many people have different viewpoints. I also want to hear from
them to find out the missing parts.
