Selenium 4.12.0 incredibly slow on Chrome desktop but running fine on Chrome For Testing

Hi!
This my setup:

• MacOS 13.5.1 (arm64 M1)
• Google Chrome desktop 116.0.5845.179
• Chromedriver 116.0.5845.96 (installed with Brew)
• Python 3.9.17
• Selenium 4.12.0

My issue is that when running Selenium using Chrome desktop and the relative Chromedriver, I have incredibly long page load times (basically everything goes in timeout after a while).

But everything runs fine if I use the Google Chrome For Testing version and relative driver downloaded from here https://googlechromelabs.github.io/chrome-for-testing/
Specifically for my system I have downloaded the following:

• https://edgedl.me.gvt1.com/edgedl/chrome/chrome-for-testing/116.0.5845.96/mac-arm64/chrome-mac-arm64.zip
• https://edgedl.me.gvt1.com/edgedl/chrome/chrome-for-testing/116.0.5845.96/mac-arm64/chromedriver-mac-arm64.zip

Does anyone know why it doesn't work well when using Chrome desktop?
