Hi All

We have a WPF application within which we have embedded Internet Explorer Browser & Chromium. Currently we have knowledge on how to connect to an embedded CEF browser using remote debugging port.

We would like to know if we can have a similar approach to connect to the Embedded Internet Explorer Shell using Selenium WebDriver. I was not able to find any documentation around it.
Additionally, the team is also, planning to update Internet Explorer Shells to Microsoft Edge. So we would like to have a similar approach to connect WebDriver to the Embedded Microsoft Edge shells.

Can you please help us provide with documentation that would help us achieve this.

I researched this myself at one point and I think the most promising thing I found was this blog post about doing it.

I didn't get to try it out for myself but it seems like some people have gotten this to work, mind you it involves compiling your own edited IE Driver version pretty much . . .
