I'm wanting to know the best way to upgrade the standalone version of Firefox and Chrome that come with the current docker-selenium containers.

For example, the current version seems to use Firefox 45 but the latest version (as of writing) is Firefox 47.

What are my options here?
  • Submit pull-request to have docker-selenium use Firefox 47?
  • Extend `StandaloneFirefox` for my own uses and install a later version of Firefox as part of the container setup process?

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

I'm having the same issue as seen above.
Can someone please explain what is the best option when say one wants to work with previous browser version from the one that is in the image?

Thanks

You can lock the version that you use. You can see the tagged versions on dockerhub (for example standalone-chrome: https://hub.docker.com/r/selenium/standalone-chrome/tags/). Then use the tag. I use docker-compose this locks my version to 3.0: selenium/standalone-chrome:3.0

Hello

Alternatively you may use Vagrantbox which delivers down level versions of browsers and everything -

Check for example my repo

Feel free to ask questions iif you have any

Thanks
