How to Check Water Mark Text present for input field?

Hi,

I am Testing Web Application in that there is Text box which has Watermark into it.

 

How Can I Test Text of Watermark in Selenium IDE/Web driver?

After entering text(Manually) there is Help Drop Down get opened but this drop Down is not opened while running the script.

Shall I slow down execution of command in Selenium IDE? So that it enters each character slowly as we type. 

Or

how can I test it? 

Provide you opinion.

I hope by now, you might have resolved this problem of finding data from the auto suggest box (if not, I would like to help)
 however did you figure out the watermark thing ?
Is there any work around to get watermarked text in order to validate it ? (since its not present in html)
