I'm a complete newbie to selenium. Only heard of it about 2 weeks ago.
Followed an article about using it with VBA in Excel and downloaded from links in that article. I'm fairly cautious about downloading new stuff from sites I've never heard of before, so over a few days I googled more and more about WebDriver and Selenium, eventually downloaded from what seemed like safest source.

Today Windows defender (after an overnight full scan) found the Rundas.B virus in the SeleniumBasic-2.0.9.0.exe download file

Just a warning, apologies I cannot be more precise about where and when I downloaded it, I've been looking through my browser history but after a couple of tedious hrs, I'm still unsure of exactly where I downloaded from.

Regards, Nicholas

I don't think that is from the selenium project. I suggest using :
https://github.com/mozilla/geckodriver/releases (GeckoDriver for Firefox > version 48)

If you want to use VB/VBScript in Excel or outside, you can use this instead which doesn't require an executable/EXE on the driver side, just needs Selenium server JAR instance running to receive the client API commands. And supposedly should not trigger any virus alerts I'd think unless antivirus thinks this VBScript code is malicious. But you can really look at the source code yourself to see what it does, since should just be all scripting.
