Hi All,

Could any one please let me know if we have webdriver support for Microsoft Windows 10 - Spartan browser.

Thanks,
Nagarajan.

Given that Spartan has not been included in any publicly available Windows 10 preview release, how, exactly, would you expect there to be support for it from an open source project like Selenium? Do we plan to support it? Yes, I certainly hope to. In an ideal world, the W3C spec for WebDriver will have matured to the point that Microsoft can provide day-and-date support at release time. But how about we let the browser at least be available in a preview for a reasonable time before asking about support, okay?

It is now, see insider preview. Any news when we are going to be able to test this browser.

I answered this more fully over on StackOverflow[1], but the answer is that production of a driver for Microsoft Edge is solely on Microsoft. There is no work happening in the open source project at the moment on a driver for Microsoft Edge. Microsoft has committed to delivering such a driver[2], rendering whatever open source work done on such a driver obsolete upon its release. Note, however, they have not discussed a timetable for the relase of that driver, as is common Microsoft practice..
