You need to set the timeout.
It can be done by setTimeout() call or by Se-IDE options.

setTimeout(timeout)
Arguments:
  • timeout - a timeout in milliseconds, after which the action will return with an error
Specifies the amount of time that Selenium will wait for actions to complete.

Actions that require waiting include "open" and the "waitFor*" actions.

The default timeout is 30 seconds.

Hello,

4 years passed by since the last comment here and i stumpled upon the issue about the timeout-problems the community had in SE IDE. I'm using version 2.9.0 in Firefox and i still have the problem, that i can't set a proper working timeout. Not in the options menu and not with the setTimeout command. It doesn't matter what i do, everytime im getting "[error] Timed out after 30000ms" in the log. I searched seleniumhq and it appeared that the problem popped up 2006, 2010 and 2014 and always got solved.
I have certain plugins installed like:
- Selenium IDE - Selblocks
- Selenium IDE - c# Formatters
- Selenium IDE - Java Formatters
- Selenium IDE - Python Formatters
- Selenium IDE - Ruby Formatters

i cannot imagine any of those are the reason for the issue, but....

Does anybody has the same or similar probs, or knows an answer? Would be appreciated!

I am having the same problem in Selenium IDE 2.9.1 in Firefox - timeout is stuck at 30 seconds.
