Using selenium grid version 4.0,.
Configuration: 3 routers running on 3 different linux hosts mapped to 3 different linux hosts running session queue, distributor and node on it.
Memory assigned: Routers 10 gb of 32 GB RAM, 4gb of RAM assigned to Distributor and session queue. 10 GB of RAM to node process.

Error:

  • Driver config / start failed : webdriver session create status 500 {Driver info: driver.version : unknown, localizedMessage: Could not start a new session, unable to create native thread : possibly out of memory or process / resource limits reached }
  • Driver config / start failed : Java.Net.SocketTimeoutException : Read Timed out, options : {type=chromedriver, start=false, webDriverUrl= xxx , target=null}
Kindly suggest possible cause of error or any leads to solve this. Thanks.

There's not much information to debug.

Please add more context in terms of stacktrace and where you are seeing the error stacktrace (is it on the console of the hub|node|router|distributor or is it at your testcase end)

Hi,

The issue is on node.

I have default settings wrt stack size and swap memory.

Do you think reducing stack size and increasing swap memory will help as it might not be able to create more threads?

Hard to say. You might want to experiment to find out what can fix it because its not clear as to what is causing the OOM.
