Unable to access jarfile selenium.java

Yeah I know this has been asked before but I am gona ask it again
I have the selenium jar files in a folder on C: so the path is C:
\selenium
When I try to start the server i get the above message.
I am using selenium'java-2.0rc2
Please help... I have been looking all week on ways to make this thing
work

What do you mean with start the server, are you running the command java -jar selenium-server-standalone-2.0rc2.jar ?????

What version of java do you have?

java -version

just to be clear from what you described you are doing the following:

(start -> run ->  cmd.exe)

C:

cd \selenium

java -jar selenium-server-standalone-2.0rc2.jar

can you copy the full output you see after that command.  If that file exists there and you have java (I'm running version 1.6.0_24 on my windows machine, 26 is the latest) it should run just fine.

(not that this will help your current issue, but 2.0.0 was just released yesterday, you should upgrade: http://code.google.com/p/selenium/downloads/list )

*first of all, double click on the
selenium-server-standalone-2.0rc2.jar
Java jar file.

*Now,go to the command prompt and write the full path of your
directory where the above jar file exist.
for example, C:\>CD <Full Path>enter

*now write below command and then press enter key. your selenim server
will be automatically started.
java -jar selenium-server-standalone-2.0rc2.jar

I know its a silly oversight, but make sure all your paths are set up correctly.

Hey thanks for all of the replays

The version of Java is 1.6.0_27-ea

This is what I am doing
I have selenium on the root of my C in a folder called Selenium
So I do this
(start->run->cmd.exe)
This opens the command window
CD.. to root of C
then go cd selenium and run java -jar selenium-server-
standalone-2.0rc2.jar
I get this message now
Unable to access jarfile selenium-server-standalone-2.0rc2.jar

So after looking at the directory I start trying all of the .jars
listed and got one to work
jave -jar selenium-server-standalone-2.0rc2-2.jar
WHAOOOOO

Rename the server and then try it happen to me before and it work for me.

make sure you have not extracted the jar file.
