Selenium 4 to automate application on Edge compatibility Mode.

I am facing issue while automating the application using Selenium 4 in IE mode in Microsoft Edge with Internet Explorer Driver.

I have followed the steps given in the Microsoft Blog but still not able to get the results.

Issue: I am able to launch the browser in "Edge compatibility mode" but not able to move further. The screen is stuck on the page with following error:

"This is the initial start page for the WebDriver server".

Could someone please help me in resolving this issue. Since, doing automation with selenium in IE mode in Microsoft Edge with Internet Explorer Driver is very new and I am not able to find much support on it... Any Help would be appreciated !!

Hey, I am trying the same and can't even launch the browser. What options have you used in launching the browser if i may ask please? And what version of Edge? I am trying to use it with testNG in Java 1.8 and it won't launch the browser without much info in the error either. Thanks, Urvi

Hi

I am facing similar issue with Excel macro with Selenium Edgedriver. I could not get it to connect to Website on Edge with IE mode.

The error I got was:

Turn off remote debugging to open this site in IE mode. Otherwise it might not work as expected.

Anyone has a solution that you can share please. That would be much appreciated

I am facing same issue any fixes there

My Project needs Login page works only in normal mode(Edge) and after login subsequent ages open in only in IE Mode.

I am using selenium 4 with internet explorer driver with attachtoedgechrome But it forces all tabs to be opened in IE mode(ie-mode-force).is there any solutions.

If I use msedge driver to support IE mode, by having site list in enterprise site list. But IE mode requires Remote Debugging to be turned off.
