I came across this special interactive mode feature of the server JAR recently: http://selenium.googlecode.com/git-history/rc-0.9.2/website/tutorial.html

It's cool that the feature still works (at least for the most part) under version 2.46 for which I tested (on a Mac). But looking at how it runs, I'm assuming this runs under Selenium RC mode still. This seems like a useful feature for debugging and test development - particularly an alternative for those not working in a programming/scripting language that offers a (native or simple) interactive interpreter shell.

I wonder if the Selenium team has any thoughts or plans for updating this for WebDriver being the underlying mechanism of this feature. Keeping same syntax or updating it to be WebDriver-ish. At a minimum, I hope this feature is never removed from the server component. It would be nice if it gets updates and improvements though.
