I'm using FF 39.0 and Selenium Java WebDriver 2.47.1.

I've asked before, but maybe I was using the wrong name for things so it wasn't clear what I was asking.  Pictures also help.

I want to prevent the download progress pop-up pictured here from appearing during my tests.

I'm hoping there's a setting in about:config that'll do it, but I've tried a whole bunch of things without success.  I looked for any config options with "download" in the name, but none of them seem to hide the pop-up entirely.  I can limit the number of downloads that appear in the pop-up, but I've never been able to get rid of it.

Thanks,
Terry

Also, I'm running my tests on Windows 7, Ubuntu 12.04 Server, and Ubuntu 14.04 desktop.

Sorry for the delay in replying.  Forgot to check "email updates", I guess.

Nope, "browser.download.manager.showAlertOnComplete" doesn't do it.  The popup still appears.

So, short of having a manually configured profile, which I don't like because I want a fresh profile for every test suite, looks like there's no way to get rid of it.

Ideally speaking you shouldn't be doing downloads via the UI. You might want to take a look at the below links to see if it helps.

With respect to profiles, please be informed that irrespective of whether you use a manually created profile or not, Selenium always creates a fresh profile when it spawns a firefox browser.

If no profile was given then selenium creates a new anonymous profile and works with it.
If an existing profile was given then selenium makes a copy of the given profile and then works with it (so its as good as new)
