I am unable to retrieve text from textbox as there is no value attribute. Even i tried with getText but no use. Below is my screenshot with DOM.

Please suggest other way ASAP.

Hi,
Could you pease fill in the textbox with a value, tell us what you entered and show a pic of the DOM with the value you have entered.
The input field you have shown does not contain a value and I would expect it to be in the text attribute.

Thanks,
Adrian.

Hi all,

Actually it is not a normal text box it is a auto populate textbox (in which if we enter any text it will show as a auto-populated). And also as you said even after entering again the same text it is not showing any value attribute in DOM.

Use Xpath to locate the element and then store the value in a variable and then try. In case if it does not work, send me the code.

Prakash,

I am able to locate the element using xpath but there is no textbox value for it.

It shouldn't matter if it is an auto populate box.
If I could see the DOM with a value in it, then it will help to think of a solution.

Regards,
Adrian.
