c# - Versions msedgedriver

Hello

 

let's suppose I'm using Edge version 128, for example, and my tests are running fine. so I have msedgedriver.exe version 128.

an edge update is done: edge 131

all my tests are in error:

"session not created: This version of Microsoft Edge WebDriver only supports Microsoft Edge version 128 Current browser version is 131.0.2903.6"

 

how to either force the use of msedgedriver 128, or automatically update to msedgedriver 131?

 

for now, if my tests are in error, I overwrite msedgedriver 128 by 131 myself, and the next day my daily tests are ok again. but how to avoid this "error day"?

Hello brother ,I think you must use the stable version  and turn off the update .
   But if it is compulsory for you to test on the  latest version then I would like to suggest ,it's better to write a script for automatically update webdriver .

Users very often have the latest version (at least here in the company). so yes I test on the latest version.

I believe the solution to this is Selenium Manager.  See https://www.selenium.dev/documentation/selenium_manager/
