Selenium-server 4.8.0 on mvnrepository

Is there a developer reason as to why there are no 4+ Selenium-server jars on the public Maven repo except the alpha versions? Due to IT limitations, I am unable to get my projects to download jars from sources that are not white-listed, which mvnrepository is allowed. We are recently updating from selenium 3.141.59 to selenium 4 and this has been a little bit of a hiccup. Thank you for the assistance!

I was referring to the grid all in one Selenium-Server jar. We can see here https://repo1.maven.org/maven2/org/seleniumhq/selenium/selenium-server/ the last version updated was 4.0.0-alpha2. However if you go to selenium.dev/downloads you can get 4.8.0 version.

Ok. Got it. So you are searching for the uber jar to be available for download on the Maven Central instead of having to download it from the github releases page (https://github.com/SeleniumHQ/selenium/releases) is it ?

I dont know if we are publishing the uber jars to Maven Central anymore (My personal rationale behind why it might have stopped is perhaps because Maven Central is meant to house artifacts which will be consumed as dependencies and I dont think anyone consumes the uber jar as a maven dependency and so its no longer being published).

Maybe you could request your IT team to add the github releases page for selenium also into the whitelisting list?

The only other alternative that I can think of is for you to build and release the Selenium uber jar into your Maven Repository ( not a scalable one to be honest)
