Google Analytics Testing with Webdriver

    Is there a way to automate testing google analytics using webdriver?

Good question, Guru.

 

I ran with same problem before. I don't think there's any easier way to automate testing google analytics.

 

However, i think you can see the javascript events triggered by google analytics in the page source and test those events which is what i did.

Huzefa, I managed to use browsermob proxy and analyzed traffic for the triggered events. 

Look up on how to use browsermob and webdriver you will find a lot of examples on how to integrate it too.

Lastly, I would advise you to think if you really need to automate GA or any web analytic. If a tracking tag is broken it will be know to the SEO team with in 24 hours.

So depends on how you plan to run the test and against every development cycle?
