Running a Greasemonkey script with selenium-ruby

I can add the FF extension 'Greasemonkey' without any problems using the add_extension method. But I don't know how to add a Greasemonkey script, the method add_extension doesn't work in this case.
I tried opening FF / Iceweasel using X11 forwarding and installed it, but then Selenium doesn't pickup this installation and it still not works.
Does anyone know how to install Greasemonkey scripts?
