The Selenium team would like to submit the following Docker Images for the Docker Official Repo Program: (https://registry.hub.docker.com/repos/selenium/)

selenium/base
selenium/hub
selenium/node-base
selenium/node-chrome
selenium/node-firefox
selenium/node-chrome-debug [We recognize that this image may not be ideal yet]
selenium/node-firefox-debug [We recognize that this image may not be ideal yet]

Thanks,
Matt Smith

Matthew,

Thanks for your email.

Please coordinate with Peter Salvatore (cc'd) who has a tremendous interest in the combination of Selenium and Docker. He will walk you through what makes sense and the team for making this happen.

Hey Matt & Selenium devs,

Let's continue talking about this effort via SeleniumHQ/docker-selenium issues/PRs.  There are some improvements we need to make before submitting a PR to docker-library/official-images, and I still have some ideas I need to work through about xvfb-run vs. alternatives.  The debug images in their current state would get rejected by the official repo maintainers due to running multiple services within one container.  Still, it's neat, and could be maintained separately in the selenium namespace as you do today (thanks!).

Love the idea of Selenium Docker.  Maybe I'll look into adding Selenium-Grid-Extras support
