This error happens randomly in one or two of more than twelve scenarios of
twelve and most of the time is not even present.

I am getting similar random failures.
Has anyone figured out a fix / hack to get around these intermittent
errors ?

I haven't been able to find a fix for this in our tests, but it seems to
appear in versions of Chrome past 45.

I've had success when using Chromium v44.0.2403.0 as a replacement for
Chrome on our VMs. Since running some tests for a few weeks with it, the
issue has not been seen. This is with ChromeDriver 2.20 on Win7 64-bit
machines.

Not necessarily a fix, but a potential temporary replacement until
something can be discovered.
