match only words that start with search term

how do you use select2 to match only words that start with search term(ah duplicate? i searched the forum). the documentation shows use of it using compact version. do i need to still use
"$.fn.select2.amd.require"?. what about full version of select2.? the documentation does not show how to use the same using full version of select2.
