Hi Igor:

Do you have an update for Select2 that shows a tree view? If not, is there anything else you can point me to?

Thanks a ton!

How is this going Igor? I'm interested in integrating tree-like functionality into select2.

Hi Igor,
First of all thanks a lot for the great Select2. Let me "update" the question on tree support. Any news on it? I could not find anything like it in the 4.0 beta version.
Thanks,
Moritz

Support for trees has probably been shelved for 4.0, but that depends on what you are all envisioning.

What is everyone looking for in the Select2 dropdown that would qualify it as a tree, compared to what we currently have?

Hi Kevin,

Having trees in select2 dropdown is quite improvement for user experience sometime.

Please take a look at the screen shot I get from a product.

The image should says everything.

On the other hand, from views count of this thread (690), which means it is a important feature that lots of user needed it.

Thanks!

谢谢

The primary difference I see is that the existing interface focuses heavily on searching by typing. A tree view benefits from the fact that data is structured hierarchically, meaning that the data can be navigated by clicking the expand/collapse (+/-) buttons. Of course, you knew all of this, but this, at the core, is what makes a tree view valuable for us. We have hundreds of categories in our CMS - it would be valuable to be able to "drill down" through categories to *discover* the right category instead of having to know *beforehand* what the target category is.
