Dear Colleagues,

 

I read an article in a local website about two little girls from Ebad village of Marjah district of Helmand, who are in serious condition of health. These girls are 2 and 1 years of age and the youngest has serious wounds on her neck and head due to shrapnel from artillery. They have lost their father and older brother in the Marjah fighting and currently living with her helpless mother in a small tent in Qargha of Kabul. The poor mother is in need of urgent support for the treatment of her daughters.

 

An envelop is placed in the office of Mr. Fazal Ahmad Formuli's office (2^nd floor, first office on the right, next to the stairs), anyone who would like to contribute please consult him.

Hi all,

 

I went to Marjah yesterday for a one day trip with afghan and Nato officials. I talked to people and their situation.

 

First: People told me that a Taliban commander has send message to Marjah people that if any one who is not from Marjah been seen in the city will be killed by their fighters and yesterday Taliban were killed 2 person who were not from Marjah. one teacher from Jalalabad and one medic personnel from Kabul.

 

Second: No one from my journalist friends could not find any camp or any displaced group. Aljazeera journalist, Wali told me that there is a bridge near Lashkar Gah on the way to Marjah that some Marjah families who stayed some times in Lashkar Gah are going back to Marjah and crossing this bridge. He spend one day to catch up some and he could see 2 families in one they going back to Marjah.

 

Tird: There is no way to go to Marjah. all roads are closed by Gov. or Nato and also there is Mine problem.

 

Forth: People as they talk to us are not happy with the Afghan Gov. now. Most of them said that they want Karzai Gov. do not touch their Poppy field and if Afghan police disturb them they will use their gun. An elder told this clearly to Khalili, the second vice president.

 

all these shows that it is too dangerous to go any of Sela member and i strongly ask all Sela group to do not go there for a while. I talked to Helmand Governor and he told that there is no a good time now to plan this kind of none gov. helps.

thank you for bringing this issue into our attention.. if this case is for real and the girls with their mother live in Kabul too, so there is no reason we don't help them. we can do a lot and even we can cover any medical operation the injured girls might need in order to find their health back and also in regards to help them find a better place for living..

 

can you please look in to the case closely and if that's really the case, let me know so that I donate some money through Mujtaba and I'm sure every one else will do the same.

 

so just please give us a bit more details and facts about this family.

I just want to listen from the project initiator, as per my understanding Sela was not planing to go to Marja, we were going to help people from Marja who moved to Lashkar gah, and I can assure you that there are more then 5000 people right now in Lashkargah from Marja, and we can discuss that in a meeting that how I found it.

But the main thing which i want to be clear is that i suppose we were not going to Maja itself anyways or else?

I have talked to my colleauge as he explains in below email , some journalist if masoud jan and ramin jan know him by name of Jalalzai , has been involved with monitoring this family and meeting them closely, I think it i would better to go and meet this family n person with help of this person .... then we can better understand what to do.
 
if you all agree to help this family a mother with two kids no men in their family
then we can proceed to talk with Jalalzai with help of my colleague...
