Guys,

Maybe I’m just grasping at straws.

I have contacted my health service provider, Loma Linda University and I have informed them of the new exclusionary policy that Anthem Blue Cross is instating whereby my family I along with many other city of los angeles employees are being denied the ability to continue using Loma Linda University, Cedars Sinai, USC as well as other well established institutions that provide health services.

I have taken the list of Medical Groups that Anthem Blue Cross has identified as “select” and forwarded the list to Loma Linda for them to see if any of the physicians on this list use Loma Linda.

The reason I am sharing this with you is because there may be a possibility that if you contact your existing institution of health service administrator at Cedar Sinai and USC, they may not even be aware that they will be losing many of their long held clients. They may (fingers crossed) be able to review the list of physicians and medical groups that are on your list (provided by Anthem Blue Cross if you call them) of physicians and Medical Groups for you and determine if you will still be able to continue with them in a round about way.

I thought that I was done with this issue, that I would let things play out and would not send any more emails out until some other burning issue (in my mind) should appear.

Well, I don’t know how this will help, but I figure time is not on our side. The clock is running down and if this idea of your contacting USC and Cedar Sinai helps, so much the better.

I called Loma Linda and asked to speak to a clinic director. I got her name and email address.   I explained to her what was going on (she had no clue). I have sent Loma Linda the list and now I will wait and see what comes of this.

Dear Loma Linda University Hospital,

My name is Rafael Garcia and my wife's name is Julie Garcia.

We have been residents of Fontana for eleven years and using Loma Linda for this period of time.

The City of Los Angeles along with Anthem Blue Cross are no longer going to carry Loma Linda on their list of available choices for health care.

Attached is a copy of the medical groups that I will be eligible to utilize in the Inland Empire beginning January 1,2013.

Are any of these Medical Groups working in conjunction with your hospital?
