I don't need a screenshot of my problem. I have been trying to buy credits to play computer games but the Microsoft form will not give me the option to select my State, which is Victoria. I have reported this problem many times over the past few days but the problem remains.
To capture a screenshot on Windows 10, I simply hold down the Windows key, press Shift, and then click the 'S' key. Afterward, I'm able to select the specific area on the screen that I want to capture. This is always the easiest way for me and then I grab a subway specials today.
@Iceni_777 you could maybe try shift+windows key+S in that respective order. Do not press them at the same time and keep the previous key down when pressing the next one. After that you can select the part of the screen you want to screenshot and then in order to save it you need to click on the notification that will pop up. The notification will open a new tab and then you have to manually save it. I hope this helped!
Recommend a totally free and safe ( developed by a commercial brand) snipping tool. It can capture for various needs - take notes, add elements, etc. Hot keys can be customized according to your habits. Most importantly, it's safe and free of all kinds of ads, which is quite annoying when I use other free software.

Need to take a screenshot on your Windows PC? Whether you want to capture the full screen or just one window or area, there are several quick and easy ways to take screenshots in Windows 10, Windows 11, and Windows 8. This wikiHow article will teach you how to use keyboard shortcuts (including the Print Screen key), the Snipping Tool, and the Xbox Game Bar to screen capture any area of your Windows desktop.
Newbie here.
My dearest tech gal friend Karen (BFF too genetic) who used to help me through these dilemmas passed during Covid but I do try to carry on as she taught me. Learning and searching and stretching my boundaries.
Little over a week ago my 3 year old HP Envy hit be with that dreaded blue screen of death. I fought (muddled) my way into DOS (scary territory for this old gal I tell you!) but totally reinstalled windows 11, and as I don't store anything much on the hard drive the possibility of loss was slight.
I had fabulous success (Thank you my lost friend) and got up and running reloaded all apps etc.
But I am stuck with one single glitch, try as I might I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong
I save my screenshots to my DB and into a folder simply named screenshots . . have done this since friend Karen introduced me to the program some 10 years ago . . .
Now all my screenshots are still going into the DB but they won't go into the folder / file but are loose at the bottom of the screen
I know it's probably something ridiculously simple but to this basic appliance operator I'm rather tired of fighting this on my own so humbly come looking for help
Thank you ahead of time
So it has been close to a week since I asked my question and well over two weeks trying to solve this issue including on my own, all to no avail.
Then
Yesterday My lappy says it need to shut down and reboot to correct an issue.
I'm thinking oh lordy it's going into it's death throes!
I agree to restart and it turns off and I go do chores and some of the dozens of things I needed to be doing . . .
It's probably an hour when I come back and attempt to log in.
Everything goes perfectly smoothly . . Out of curiosity I take a screen shot. Surprise of surprise! Screenshot is exactly where it is supposed to be! Not sure how it got all corrected but I'm very happy to be back up to my version of normal!
Thank you folks for input and help!

Thanks for responding
That was one of my quandaries. My app did not show this option
It did/does for capture but not for screenshots
I messaged directly to dropbox about my app and they gave me another link to another way to download the app - probably the correct app for my Hp laptop.
Now I can't get the old one to uninstall "uninstall fails"
I'm going to attempt to download the recommended version and see if that will let me uninstall the one I have or both then once again download the proper version -
I hope
Then I figure I will be at square one to find the proper solution to my initial issue
Thank you again I think this is a great lead!
OK I'm back to square one
I found also that my preferences were not behind a gear or tools but behind my profile pic.
Checked out preferences and if I didn't have it before, yes I now have the screenshots checked
Since uninstalling and reinstalling my recent screenshots are going back to Drive C videos / captures

From time to time, I see a message that a screenshot has been saved to Dropbox. I must be hitting some hot key combination to do that, but I can't figure out what it is. My hands are nowhere near the printscreen button when this happens. Here are my issues:
Anyone know of a way to simply paste a screenshot (taken with PrtScn or Alt+PrtScn) into a Windows Explorer folder and have it be saved as an image (possibly with a dialog asking about image size and format options)? That is, I might take a screenshot with print screen, open a folder and hit Ctrl+V, and a new jpg (or png, or whatever) would appear in that folder with the contents of my screenshot.
I just found "PasteIntoFiles" freeware on GitHub adds a shortcut to the Windows Explorer context-menu that opens a tiny tool with the current folder pre-selected, and a "Save" button. It works with Windows 10.
After I posted this request to the DonationCoder netizens, the world was given a handy piece of software by c.gingerich that fits the bill nicely. (The project's page is also at , and now costs money, but there are old free versions about.)
Paste As File. Right click on the desktop or on thebackground of a Windows explorer window and select Past As File. Youcan then save the clipboard to a file based on the contents. Either atext file or an image in PNG or JPG format. You can download it frommy website if you are interested. It's free.
This also works if you copy an image that is embedded in a document (e.g. OneNote or Word) to the clipboard:1. Open Paint program.2. Paste the clipboard.3. Do a Save As to save the file as a jpg (for example) or any other listed format.
The Snip & Sketch tool is easier to access, share and annotate screenshots than the old Snipping Tool. It can now capture a screenshot of a window on your desktop, a surprising omission when the app was first introduced that kept us on Team Snipping Tool until recently.
Either the keyboard shortcut or the notification button will dim your screen and open a tiny menu at the top of your screen that lets you choose which type of screenshot you want to take: rectangular, freeform, window or full-screen. Once you take your screenshot, it will be saved to your clipboard and show up momentarily as a notification in the lower-right corner of your screen. Click the notification to open the screenshot in the Snip & Sketch app to annotate, save or share it. (If you miss the notification, open the notification panel and you'll see it sitting there.)
If you open Snip & Sketch from the Start menu or by searching for it, it will open the Snip & Sketch window instead of the small panel at the top of the screen. From here, you need to click the New button in the upper left to initiate a screen capture and open the small panel. It's an extra step to proceed this way, but it also lets you delay a screenshot. Click the down-arrow button next to the New button to delay a snip for 3 or 10 seconds.
