Dear Friends of Safe Passage/Camino Seguro,

I wanted to share with you our search for the next Safe Passage/Camino Seguro Database Manager. Perhaps you know someone who would be perfect for this job; perhaps you could forward this to other friends and colleagues who might know someone qualified for this job.

Three years ago, Safe Passage embarked on a much needed project to customize an operational, planning, and evaluation database for our multifaceted operations here in Guatemala. Most of you are familiar with Safe Passage, www.safepassage.org, now in the 15th year of operation.

We have benefited from a terrific team of 3, who have worked diligently to customize a cloud-based module of the well known Blackbaud software. Safe Passage uses Raiser's Edge for Fundraising and Donor management and we use Education Edge for the educational, social services, health, and community outreach programs of Safe Passage. A strong database is essential for the complex and dynamic programs.

Two of our 3 current database staff are moving on in the next 2-5 months with their lives and careers... Our top priority is to recruit equally talented and dedicated staff to replace the top position of Registrar/Database Team Manager.

Can you help us by spreading the word about this position.

• Reports directly to the Executive Director
  
• Manages Database team and responsible for leading, collaborating with, and training senior staff at Safe Passage in continued implementation and operation of database to plan, monitor, and evaluate all Safe Passage programs.

Ideal candidate would have i)  license in information technology with expertise in Microsoft Access or similar databases, ii) 3+ years of experience actively engaged in database operations, both design and management, iii) work experience in demanding business, NGO environment, or significant educational institution, iv) basic working knowledge of English (Blackbaud technical support and training modules are still all in English, and candidate must be able to engage in discussion with US-based Safe Passage staff operating Raiser's Edge, v) willingness to commit to minimum of 2 years with Safe Passage/Camino Seguro.
