why does the following command take so long? I've been waiting over 45 mins for the cluster to start and its still "BOOTSTRAPPING"
cl <- createCluster(2, cranPackage=c("ggplot2"))

45 minutes is, indeed, a long wait time. Usually they start much faster. It's hard to know exactly what's taking the time, but it's usually the loading up of the latest version of R and updating the packages. I've also had situations where, for some unknown reason, an instances just never loads but never errors out. It just hangs. I kill the cluster and then restart.
