500 Parade features Segway Parade Marshals this year - Starring IndySEG!

Hi everyone!

I've received an excellent opportunity to show off our units and our
IndySEG community. Rip Taggart, the head of the Techpointe Foundation
is a longtime walking marshal of the 500 Parade and approached us to
bring together a group of Segway enthusiasts to use SOI machines
decorated in race colors to marshal the parade on May 24.

I am hoping to get fifteen of you to join us in Indy for parade day,
riding on your machines, or our machines from the shop, from 8am until
3pm. Below is information about how to register.

A new registration requirement this year, will be to also fill in
registration information on a special web-site.

Here’s how to complete your registration process. It may sound a
little complicated, but only takes a few minutes to complete. Let us
know if you're participating, and if you're going to ride your own
machine or use one from SOI, so I can work on my end to confirm the
number of marshals on Segways. This will help me provide training and
machines to others who want to marshal on a machine.

page 1 - click register now
page 2 - fill in your email address and click new user
page 3 - select volunteer and click submit
page 4 - fill in required information, select YES under committee
question and fill in the word MARSHAL as your access code. this part
is very important. then click register
page 5 - enter your initials and click accept
page 6 - sign up for the parade marshal and any other volunteer
options you'd like to do
page 7 - edit your information or add a family member (must be at the
same email address)
page 8 - click complete registration one last time
page 9 - your final itinerary will be shown

I cannot stress what a great honor this is for the Central Indiana
Segway Community. I am excited about you being a part of this event
and we look forward to an exciting parade day. Again, let us know when
you've signed up so I can keep a separate list to email further
information about the event.

I will bring the DCSEG mallets and ball out when I come out the next time, and you guys can give it a try.  It's fun, and it would be GREAT to have a local team in the Woz Cup in August.
