Sothe official Evernote keyboard shortcuts guide says there is a shotcut to increase/decrease font size of selected text. But I have never been able to get that to work. And I know this has been a problem that's existed for some time. Is there any fix for this on the horizon?
Since version 6.5 it seems that Evernote has removed these shortcuts. PLEASE BRING THESE SHORTCUTS BACK. The font size shortcuts (CMD+, CMD-) have been so convenient that I find it annoying now that I can't change font size that easily. There is no reason to remove them in the first place. Thank you!
It sounds like you are looking for the Windows Desktop Help thread. You can find it at the link below, I recommend directing your question there so we can keep the Mac Help thread focused on the Mac version of EN. Thanks!
Why do you expect your pet project (no post on this old thread for over 2 years) to be moved to the top of the backlog ? I assume the devs have issues on hand that will benefit all users. For me the new sync would get all attention - and forget about font keyboard shortcuts for a while.
I've bought your new Affinity Photo after trying it out a little during the beta. It has a lot of potential!
As I'm living in Sweden I have a Swedish keyboard layout, which leaves me with really annoying problems when it comes to some keyboard shortcuts. To get the keys '[' and ']' requires me to press two buttons, ALT+8 and ALT+9... which of course doesn't work for changing the brush size (as the keyboard shortcut seems to be programmed the wrong way (same problem with Adobe products))..
As you can understand this is quite annoying... so, I try the next thing that I find logical, using the mouse wheel in hopes that it will change the brush size.. but no, it scrolls the image up and down...
And I would really like the scroll wheel on the mouse to change the brush size, this would be soooo convenient and fast, much better than having to use keyboard shortcuts (though this should be an option too)...
And a right click to get the brush size change would be helpful too (which is what I do in PS), but it is not as fast as using a scroll wheel to just change it instantly.
Yes, this is not only an issue with the Swedish keyboards but other languages as well: I have also read on some posts (don't remember exactly which ones) that a solution is being looked into. No doubt many will be glad when it arrives.
Yes, you are right @justwilliam, this is a problem for other language keyboards as well, I just thought I explain it with the setup I have :)
Good to hear that they are looking into a solution for this. I hope we will see updates quite often.
I even clumsily slapped together this nice smiley for you in appreciation of your post. Obviously I am no artist but I am thoroughly enjoying my awkward attempts at learning the tools and techniques needed to get any simple doodles which may be in my head out and onto the screen. I feel like a kid who just got his first box of crayons (and my primitive work could be described the same).
* If anyone was willing, I could post the .afdesign file of this and they could give me some guidance on how to improve what I have done in the layers and possibly even how I can achieve that 'glassy' look that I see so many others accomplish.
Thank you Madame for that tip!
I've been using Photoshop in different version for over 11 years and missed that, very helpful :)
I hope this idea is added to Affinity Photo. I really like the idea of seeing how the brush size and softness looks in realtime.
Have you ever wondered how many keyboards size types exist and why? Today we are going to discuss each size type, why they are awesome or maybe not, so you can buy the right keyboard next time. And to make this fun, every time I write the world keyboard you have to do a pushup, good luck!
There is so much variety in design, and if you are looking for unique features, interesting designs, they generally come to full-sized keyboards first. This may include digital dials or detachable macro clusters, insanely high polling rate, USB and audio passthroughs, proximity sensors for illumination, and every switch and existence you can imagine is most likely available. Also since many full-size keyboards are not worried about being compact, many gaming keyboards have the macro columns on the left side for that additional functionality.
Many also come with a wrist rest, but I have yet to stumble upon a full-size keyboard with a removable cable, so apparently that is reserved for the smaller keyboards. Chances are your very first mechanical keyboard was full-size because sometimes buying a smaller keyboard feels like a compromise because of the missing keys. If you are worried about the gaming space there is still hope for a properly aggressive slant with a full-sized chunker, so you can still manage to have enough room for your mouse to maneuver. Full-size keyboards are not for me because I never really use the numpad and prefer the much better ergonomics for typing with a smaller keyboard on my desk.
The biggest benefit is the even smaller size of the keyboard gives you that maximum mouse movement, which is awesome for FPS gaming. But on the other hand I have never been comfortable using a 60% keyboard in any productivity environment since even the Delete key is combined with the backspace and you constantly have to press FN to activate any of the F rows. And even if you put a 60% keyboard right next to a 65% keyboard the size difference is one column of keys, which is quite significant from a usability standpoint and is why the 65% keyboard is the minimum I would recommend even for space saving purposes since you gain so much additional functionality.
If you tap on the screen with your finger it;ll bring up the full size keyboard. If you haven't figured it out yet. If you tap with the Pencil it expects you to write what you want to type... then translates it into type. This is an Apple iPad OS14 thing, not Adobe.
I am having the same problem, where sometimes it brings up the keyboard and other times doesn't. I have tried so many things by now and I'm totally desperate, but for the last 45 minutes my only struggle in the project is trying to make the keyboard work.

It turns out that the default behaviour of the custom input view that you assign to the UITextField's property is to resize the view to the same frame as the default keyboard. Try setting (I use the name InputViewController for my input view, but you can use whatever you want):
I had the same problem. I solved it by registering for UIKeyboardDidShowNotification (UIKeyboardWillShowNotification did not work, unfortunately) and then changing the view size after the keyboard was shown. However, it still had the white box on top of the keyboard when it was moving up. This worked fine for me because it is coming in over a UITextView with a white background. If you were coming in over any other colored objects, however, it would look a little ugly before the view was properly resized. You can solve that by setting the background color to clearColor.
Also if you're using a UIViewController to design your inputView, don't use the UIViewController.view... it seems to have a lot of problems getting resized incorrectly on rotate regardless of the AutoresizeMask.
For me msgambel's solution didn't work. But the approach right, I was playing with the inputView's autoresizingMask. Former I had different setting, but the right way to avoid white extra space over the custom keyboard is:
Mechanical gaming keyboard for game and office, which features a silent and linear typing experience. The soft, top-to-bottom feedback of red switch offers easier and smoother use than other tactile switches.Brown switch offers you the most friendly and satisfying experience when compromises both tactile and low noise two supreme merits.Blue switch is authentic and original, which is the most distinctive mechanical switch, which reminds you with the first feeling about mechanical keyboard, incomparable click feedback and refreshing tactile feel will make you typing with BGM.
It's a shame that you can't change the color of the backlit as in any other keyboard. It would be much better if it was even one colored, but it's in rainbow lights. Not as annoying as one might think, clicky and in general really fine. Perfect in a bright, lit room with the RGB lights off
