Views of one Mr. Lakshman Kasinath on life after death. Found interestingand logical.
I
do not know the previous mails in this thread except this one. It is
quite interesting to me. As far as I understand, all religions almost
believe in rebirth if not reincarnation. Rebirth is nothing but the
birth of the soul in a new body in the next birth. The soul does not
have any connection with the life it had in its previous birth but is
believed to have the net value (Karmic Balance) of the previous birth -
Sins and Virtues according to some religions. If you believe some old
tamil texts esp Purananooru - "Yadum Oore" song etc, there is nothing
like Sin and Virtue. It is all in our mind only. What sin means to one
may mean virtue to the other. Killing is a virtue for hunter while it is
a sin for a normal citizen. Similarly there is nothing like good or bad
thing. Again it is in our minds only. What is good for you need not be a
good for me. Life is like the water in the river that flows from its
origin in the mountain through all terrains to the sea. Imagine the
influence of various things on its way. Finally all go to a peaceful end
- sea. Again its evaporation causes rain, and the river begins to
restart the cycle. There is no punishment in my opinion as some
religions say. There is no heaven or hell too. The soul does not
recognize its previous birth at all, but reincarnation does. I hope I
answered your doubts to some extent. Life is a flow of incidents that
happen as per some predetermined / designed statistics. The larger the
Population size, the better the accuracy of its prediction. It may be
said in other words, as fate. Alternatively secrets of the nature. Do
not try to find the secrets before its expiry date. You will lose its
charm, purpose etc. For instance one will definitely die. But if he
knows when he will die, the charm is lost so that he can not live at
all. 100 % sure but it should unfold by itself. Life is for living only
not bothering about future or worrying about the past.
