Shalom from Switzerland,Are there any plans to offer the Tanakh in addition to Hebrew / English also in Hebrew / German?
Regards, Thomas
Shalom from Germany, well - I offered this many times and asked for it many times. The last time this was my mail:---snipp---Dear all,I was amazed to discover the possibility to insert non-english translations and I made some tests with text from talmud.de (I wonder how we may have a closer partnership of both websites) and it works (of course):So, wouldn't it be helpful to distinguish between "translation" and "english"? Currently the menu in "copied text" indicates english. I guess it should be "translation" to be more obvious.---snapp--All I got was a mail with a description of the thing I mentioned in my own mail and the rough plan to insert a German translation in the future. This is why a published an online Torah in German on my own ;-)Please don't misunderstand my point - I like and support the project and highly appreciate it, but of course, people have to focus on certain topics. So there are some special interest topics (like German translations) which have to be solved in other ways.Best regardsChajm

Shalom Lev,
cc Chajm,You, Lev, wrote me this on Feb.1st :
If we could find a suitable public domain German translation, we'd be glad to put it up.
Our support of languages outside of Hebrew/Aramaic and English is not perfect yet.Even so, we do have a full version of Tanakh in French,
https://www.sefaria.org/Genesis.1?ven=Traduction_fran%C3%A7aise_sous_la_direction_du_Grand-Rabbin_Zadoc_Kahn_[fr]&lang=bi&aliyot=0
And even the first few chapters on Genesis in a German translation:https://www.sefaria.org/Genesis.1?ven=Deutsche_Torah_%C3%9Cbersetzung_-_William_Grayson_-_2017_(zur_freien_Verwendung)_[de]&lang=bi&aliyot=0
We're happy to add a full public domain German translation, if we can find a suitable one.
My answer was on Feb.3rd:
I can only find Christian Bible versions, i.e. might include Christian text redactions...
But since there is no "Hebrew friendly" version...:
Would it be feasible to connect to Schlachter 2000 on Bible Gateway? See :
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genesis+1&version=SCH2000
Thoughts?
To avoid any misunderstandings : It’s not about any texts, it’s about the entire Tanakh in German.
Just like https://www.sefaria.org/Genesis.1?lang=bi&aliyot=0 , there should be a bilingual Hebrew <-> German Tanakh.
The question is whether you can create an interface (API ?) to an online Tanakh ?
I’m not familiar with Github.
How shall we go on? Thanks for your reply.
Chajm, would you have an idea which online German Bible (Tanakh) would be the most appropriate?
If you want, you can contact me via Whatsapp +41 79 379 98 63.Regards, Thomas

Siebzehn Jahre später sagte Buber, dass vielleicht keine 70 Jahre vergehen müssten, bevor ein deutsches Publikum wieder an der »Verdeutschung der Schrift« Interesse haben würde.
Shavua tov to all of you, nope – the use of this translation is clearly illegal. I was in contact with the publisher. It will be public domain from 2035 on… the other Jewish translation on this page is also a violation of current copyright law.Best regardsChajm--

Chajm,
Thank you for your e-mail.
I just noted … are you the owner / author of the talmud.de website?Re this Bernfeld translation (never heard of before …), you say it’s free of restrictions. Do you have it in a digital version already?
How can you proceed?
Regards, Thomas

I may give you the details of the publisher. There was no permission to use the material.
I started to digitise some works. The Bernfeld translation would be free of restrictions …
Best regards
Chajm
