Thanks to your support all these years, Sankara Eye Foundation (SEF) has performed over two million free eye surgeries - 1.93 million at our nine Sankara Eye Hospitals and 80,000 at our partner hospitals in Uttarakhand, Rajkot (Gujarat), Chhattisgarh, Bihar and Orissa. The next three hospitals are coming up in Indore (Jan 2020), Mumbai (June 2020), and Hyderabad (First half of 2021) and we are also entering the land of Buddha and Mahaveer and 20 Tirthankaras to build a 350 bed eye hospital with our partner Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital in Mastichak near Patna, Bihar (

Bihar has seven hundred thousand people with bilateral cataracts and around 4.3 million people are visually handicapped and a simple cataract surgery will bring Light into their lives. Bihar needs our help. The founder of Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital Mr. Mritunjay Tiwari is an amazing person and is totally dedicated to this cause. He wants to eradicate curable blindness in Bihar and UP.
Our grand and realistic plan is to deliver 500,000 free eye surgeries via Sankara Eye Foundation, India and another 500,000 annually via our partner hospitals and with the help of IIT-IIT.org for a total of one million free eye surgeries every year by 2030. This will arrest the growth of blindness and visual handicap in India by 2030. This is an ambitious Goal but I am very confident that we can achieve it.
We have an ambitious goal of raising $2M for Bihar by the end of this year so the hospital construction can begin next year and the hospital can be inaugurated in 2021 -

For Hyderabad, the encroachments have been removed and we are almost ready to start the construction. We think we have completed our part of the fundraising for this project but we will know for sure if we are getting the required support locally.
