Hello everyone!
I hope this email finds you well and ready to continue singing for and about peace. I know that it was with great joy that I recently read about unprecedented talks between Tibet and China. I was filled with deep gratitude when I read in the paper about how these peace talks arose shortly after the very high profile visit of HH to Seattle. I will be forever grateful for having a small part in this process. Thank you all for making this possible!
Folk Life Festival
As expected the Seeds of Compassion choir has been invited to perform at Folk Life. These performance will be much more low key and relaxed than our high energy and high security performance for the Dalai Lama.
We have two scheduled times. Each of these time slots will be more like giant sing-alongs rather than rehearsed performances. Accordingly, there are no scheduled rehearsals between now and the folk life festivals. Both performances will be at the Intiman Courtyard in Seattle Center. The courtyard is adjacent to the Intiman Theater.
Friday, May 23rd 5:00 - 6:00 * Seattle Center, Intiman Courtyard
Sunday, May 25th 1:00 - 1:50, Seattle Center, Intiman Courtyard
* Immediately afterwards, Folks Life will be showing the movie "Amandla" about the role singing played in South Africa's struggle with racial oppression.
As always, all are welcome, so please feel free to invite anyone that enjoys singing for peace.
Children's Camps with Mary K
Mary K will be leading the musical portions for two children's camps this summer. Both camps are scheduled from July 21 - 25 in different parts of Seattle. These are both excellent opportunities for children to connect with their voice in many ways.

Tuition is $250 for campers and $50 for junior counselors; scholarships are available. SCPC is also currently hiring peace camp teachers; please inquire if you have experience and are interested.
