Hello everyone,

Several folks have asked recently about summer activities for the Seeds of Compassion Choir.

There are very limited activities currently scheduled as Mary K's husband had a heart attack recently.  Fortunately, he is recovering very nicely but this has been a fairly stressful for Mary K and her family.  Accordingly she is taking a bit of break from more ambition choir activities.  Mary K will still be working with the Peace Camps this summer.  There is still a little room in each if you would like to participate.  Here is the information from the previous emails for your reference.

Children's Camps with Mary K
Mary K will be leading the musical portions for two children's camps this summer.  Both camps are scheduled from July 21 - 25 in different parts of Seattle. These are both excellent opportunities for children to connect with their voice in many ways.

Seattle Children's Peace Camp
The 7th annual Seattle Children's Peace Camp will be held July 21-25 at The Valley School in Seattle.  Seattle Children's Peace Camp provides an alternative day camp experience which fosters an understanding of peace, justice, and environmental awareness, and reflects the needs, experiences, and backgrounds of the children and families involved. Mary K. will be leading children in songs that week! Campers ages 5-12 and junior counselors ages 13-18 are encouraged to enroll. Tuition is $250 for campers and $50 for junior counselors; scholarships are available. SCPC is also currently hiring peace camp teachers; please inquire if you have experience and are interested. Check out http://www.seattlechildrenspeacecamp.org/  for more information or to register campers or junior counselors. Questions? Contact Julie Bisson at jbi...@comcast.net or (206) 298-2926.

Middle East Peace Camp
MEPC is focused on building a community of Arab, Jews and our friends based on peace, justice and compassion through recreation, education and leadership development.  This year's camp will be located at Magnuson park and Mary K will be leading the children in songs. For more information please check the website at  http://www.middleeastpeacecamp.org/

Enjoy your beautiful summer!
Kellie
