Call for Participation:
Online workshops for non-environmental CSOs on selected themes:
- Environment for youth organisations: 27 August 2024
- Environment for organisations working on social inclusion: 3 September 2024
Zoom platform
Deadline to apply: Wednesday, 21 August 2024, 15:00hrs CET
Why these workshops?
The EU TACSO 3 project supports the implementation of the green transition in the Western Balkans and Türkiye and, in doing so, cooperates with regional stakeholders, including DG NEAR, the Regional Cooperation Council, the EU4Green project, and several regionally active CSOs, including Bankwatch and the European Environmental Bureau.
Our aim is to increase awareness of the green transition among a wider range of stakeholders, encourage partnerships between environmental and non-environmental CSOs whose specialisms can complement each other, and encourage non-environmental organisations to communicate the importance of the green transition to their own stakeholders and the public. In doing so, it may also be possible to stimulate more environmentally friendly behaviours and practices among these non-environmental specialists, thus serving as exemplars to their communities.
In December 2023, the EU TACSO 3 project organized a Webinar on Mainstreaming Green Transition. The webinar targeted representatives of non-environmental CSOs and CSO networks from the WBT region who are interested in cooperating on implementing the green transition and mainstreaming it into other sectors. The resource materials from the Webinar are available in our online Library.
The key recommendation from the webinar held is to target future training to subsectors of non-environmental CSOs (e.g., youth and social inclusion) to ensure additional attention to the specificities of their possible practical involvement in the mainstreaming of green transition.
When and where the workshops are taking place?
The upcoming online regional workshops will take place on 27 August 2024 (youth organisations) and 3 September 2024 (CSOs working on social inclusion) on the Zoom platform and will be implemented in English for groups of 30 participants.
What are we going to achieve with these workshops?
At the end of these workshops, participants will have:
- Increased awareness of the importance and relevance of their involvement in environmental issues.
- Increased knowledge of the modalities of their involvement in environmental issues (e.g. project activities, specific projects, campaigns, advocacy actions, etc.).
- Developed ideas for cooperation between environmental and non-environmental CSOs and concrete actions non-environmental CSOs can immediately apply in their daily operations.
- Knowledge of resources they can obtain to assist in their activities, including funds, advice/expertise, and potential partnerships.
Who can apply and how?
Interested participants – those representing CSOs and CSO networks from the Western Balkans and Türkiye working in the sectors of youth (WS 1) and social inclusion (WS2), and interested in strengthening their capacities and involvement in environmental issues should apply by filling in and submitting the Application form by Wednesday, 21 August 2024, 15:00hrs CET.
We will select up to 30 participants for each workshop who respond to the following criteria:
- CSO or CSO network operating in WBT in the area of youth or social inclusion;
- Interest in being involved in working on environmental issues affecting their target group;
- Readiness to conduct immediate actions in applying newly gained knowledge;
- Geographical balance;
- Gender balance.
- In case of high interest, the advantage will be given to the regional networks and multi-country projects that are implemented in the WBT region.
Participants will be required to prepare for the workshop based on the documentation from the previous webinar on the topic of green transition mainstreaming organised by the EU TACSO 3 project, which is available in the project Library.
Draft Agenda can be found at event page.
