Good article! I was at a symposium back in the 80’s where Dr. Kenneth Cooper (the father of aerobics) was speaking and he made a comment during a Q&A session “…if you’re running more than 3 miles a day, you’re doing it for something other than health benefits…”. That has always stuck with me – although, I do I like a nice long run every now and then for mental health 😉

If my knee surgeon has anything to do with it even short runs will not be in my future. The damage was too extensive for complete repair and bionic knees are in my future but he is strongly against any impact sports and particularly running. Will take a little time to come to grips with this new reality.

Bob has two artificial knees and had to stop running.. He started golfing more and really loves golfing here at the country club.. . with Ray and Ron and Mike among others..
