OurBrisbane studio is located on Yuggera and Turrbal Country. We acknowledge and respect the Yuggera and Turrbal peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the land upon which we work. We honour their Elders past and present whose knowledge and wisdom has, and will, ensure the continuation of cultures and traditional practices.

Our outside-in spaces for The University of Queensland Student Central on Yuggera and Turrbal Country in Brisbane, Australia, bring the holistic student experience into the open. Nature meets nurture where lush sub-tropical landscapes and shady spaces promote connection, inclusion and wellbeing.

With the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games headed for Brisbane, we bring city-shapers together to explore how Sydney, London and Barcelona supported the vision that delivered enduring, generational change.

By unlocking critical bottlenecks and streamlining passenger experience, the city-shaping Cross River Rail marks a new era in transport for both the Australian city of Brisbane and the surrounding region of South East Queensland.

Natural disasters can challenge our health, environment and way of life but they can also bring us closer. Riverside Green in Brisbane, Australia is a symbol of recovery and unity in a flood-prone city.

Gameloft would like to acknowledge the Jagera and Turrbal people as the traditional custodians of the land we develop our games on. We acknowledge their continued spiritual connection to the land and pay our respects to their Elders, past and present.

It is my goal to work together with enthusiastic string players like you, to find your perfect instrument, and keep your instrument working at its best to really suit you and your playing style. I specialise in creating optimal acoustics and playability.

With over 35 years of experience in the restoration, repairs, valuations and tone improvement of old violins, violas and cellos, your instrument is in good hands and will come back optimized and playing at its best.

I have just bought my second instrument from Olaf. I love how he understands and shares in your excitement. His advice and attention to detail gives you confidence that you have the best instrument possible for your budget and ability.

Olaf has a wonderful wealth of knowledge which made the choice of violin purchase very easy. It made the selection for a relative newcomer effortless. He has a warmth which translates into the care that he puts into whether it is in servicing a customer or with any followup queries. Highly recommended.

Olaf is truly passionate about his trade, and genuinely a master of his craft. Took my violin to Olaf for a service and am absolutely loving how it sounds! Very meticulous and spares no expense to make sure your instrument is sounding spot on! Will definitely be back. Thanks Olaf!

Highly recommended luthier! I had a cello appointment, he gave it a thorough look over, fixed and tweaked a few things (including sound post adjustment), gave me some general advice and booked in for a follow up full service. My cello sounds amazing after the sound post adjustment and left happy! Olaf definitely has a lot of knowledge and wisdom, and I would trust him to fix any instrument. (He is the luthier Ling Ling ? )

Over time we have purchased three violins from the Violin Studio for our son, as he has grown and needed to move to the next size. Olaf has a genuine interest in the musician and patiently shares his knowledge. In helping our son to find the best violin (within our budget) Olaf has been teaching him what he needs to consider when choosing a violin. Olaf is generous with his time, his knowledge, his enthusiasm for music and his encouragement for young musicians. We always come away with a beautiful instrument and my son with a new ambition.

At my studio I make and modify/optimise violins, violas and cellos to create tonal qualities required for performance at the highest level. I achieve this by combining the age-old tradition of Lutherie with new studies into the acoustics of the string family (using research by the Grawert Family and some famous German violin makers). This research has enabled me to use some of the same techniques that were used by the famous 17th and 18th Century Italian Masters with great tonal results. Watch some videos of me restoring instruments on my YouTube channel.

Olaf worked hard to set up some beautiful instruments which we can arrange to send to you. Olaf always likes to make sure that each instrument is set up to the highest level before we send it to you, so if it is not set up we will send it as soon as we return and he will get it perfect just for you.

During this half-day adventure we will take you into the studios of painter, John Honeywill and leadlight craftsman, Julian Podmore where you will learn firsthand how they produce their creative works.

Then enjoy a leisurely pit-stop for an all included two course lunch at Farmhouse, Kedron, before paying a visit to the stockroom at leading gallerist Jan Murphy where you will take a tour of their current exhibition and find out how artists go from studio to gallery.
