Dear All,

I am happy to hear the voice of Mr. Sandana Devan as I believe SEdCI has gone quiet. The aim, goals and objectives of SEdCI is good and something that I personally feel is important in today's society in the field of education.

My request to all members is not to let this process go down as it is difficult to gather momentum and bring good people together.

We have voted people and the elected members should be active in SEdCI a vibrant community. However, this does not mean that I am not responsible and will be taking lead as per the requirement. I assume the appointed leaders have been given various responsibilities and one such elected representative should be the convener of the SEdCI group and his/her responsibility should be the email various news and views on education and on various projects that SEdCI or Members of SEdCI which to discuss in this platform. The convener has the right to stop the thread of line of discussion or filtering the message received at SEdCI platform.

Further, we need two to three active elected members who will be responsible in getting new members and using the network of other SEdCI members to get new members registered. SEdCI will only grow with members as all activities, forums, discussion, training, etc will be centered around the strength of SEdCI members.

My personal view is that at this moment there is no such urgency to get the SEdCI registration done and it can be registered when we have reasonable size of members which the executive representative should decide (eg. 1000 members). This will give strength for registration and long term sustainability of SEdCI's goals and objectives.

I look forward for inputs and suggestion from all members. Dr. Atul please take charge.

Warm regards,
Richard Lasrado

Dear Members,

I do agree with Sandanaji and Richardji. But I disagree with Richardji that the registration of the society be postponed.Registration of society is necessary. Law, as per my legal consultant's advice,  states in case the society is without registration for more than six months the members shall be penalized and even punished.

So, I am of the opinion that the office bearers should proceed with the registration and convener for handling the communication of the society be appointed.

Society registration does not cost more than Rs. 2500 to Rs; 3000. At present what is the cost I don't know.

We have the
1. Constitution of the society
2. Articles of Association can be prepared.
3. Submission of application with General Manager, District Industries Centre who is also the Registrar of Society
4. Paying the statutory fee i.e. Rs. 500/- or more. Please enquire.

Society registration certificate will be in your hands in a period of  7-10 days. Assign a job to some CA and he will do everything.

Thereafter, resolutions can be passed for opening the bank account etc.

Ashokji and Col Sahib are intelligent enough to draft the Articles of Association.

With thanks to all members and wishing good evening,

P.K.Keshap

I am wrong!

My presumption was that today we have Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Group, Twitter, and many other social networking websites which has many members registered under a particular name. I don't think they are all registered. But, I guess, I was wrong!

I thank you Keshapji for your quick response and for your alertness on the subject!

Hi Everyone,

These are some of the things that the Exec Com is working on right now:

  1. Registration of the society
  2. Website development
  3. Constitution
  4. Making a final list of Founding Members (Leaving out everyone who does not submit a profile to the society soon)
Harinder should be able to update everyone next weeks.

Rest assured, this movement will not die...

Richard,

Your suggestions are good and have been noted.

We will have a convenor for the new projects and also a membership committee.

Regarding registration, if we need to deal in finances (membership, sponsorships, projects, fund raising, etc) it is important to be registered.

Dear Sir,(Richardji),

You are right when you think about Facebook, Linkedin, Google Group and Twitter. Those are the social media groups do not require registration as the group member can enter and exist on his/her personal will. That comes under the right to expression. But a society is a legal person and hence needs registration.

With thanks,

P.K.Keshap

Dear SEdCI Executive Members,

Further to my email, I am willing to volunteer as convener of SEdCI e-group, if members agree. I will be happy to post news related to education and raise discussion on various educational issues to keep members involved. Further, I will communicate all news and upcoming events of SEdCI to all members and get them registered for it.

Alternatively I will be happy to have someone from the elected members or anyone that members decide to take the responsibility of convener of SEdCI e-group.

Warm regards,
Richard Lasrado

Dear Richard:

Thanks for your postings.
You seems to be doing  a great job. Keep it up.

Re SEdCI e-group ; I suggest you take up that responsibility. Anyway you are doing so much of good works, so why can't you volunteer? Since you are familiar with these type of works, all the SEdCI members will be happy to see you are at the helm of affairs. You may interact with Harinder on this separately and come up with a guideline and firm plan through her.

Take care.

Regards
Ashok

Thank you Ashokji for being so quick!

I wish if we could all get what we need so quick in our life...

I will certainly email Ms. Harinder to know about the guidelines for convener.

Dear All,
