I had SO sitting on my vmware workstation environment using DHCP. Worked fine, I get data in the discovery area in Kibana, no errors in logstash. Moved the VM up into the lab, set a static IP. Started getting errors about http://domainstats:20000 (or something close to that). Guessing this is a name resolution problem. Tried the 'setup' icon - it doesn't have an option for changing the management IP, it just goes straight to the ELK coolness.
Found two articles that talk about changing IP. This one:
https://github.com/Security-Onion-Solutions/security-onion/wiki/NetworkConfiguration
Talks about just changing the IP for management.
This one
https://github.com/Security-Onion-Solutions/security-onion/wiki/ChangingIPAddress
Albeit it 3 yrs old, points out dependencies.
SO - the question is - How do I trigger the original setup wizard again so that the wizard will do the stuff it needs to do to setup a static IP address? I bet thats the better/proper way of doing this.
Thanks
