Doug,
Greetings again. I now have a S.O. box setup headless in a remote
data center to which I have minimal access. I'd like to know what I
need to do in order to have the S.O. gui running on my office
computer. I'm pretty sure I can install a local copy of tk and sguil
and point it to the server. But I'd like to have access to the full
S.O. desktop environment. To complicate further I'd like to do this
on both windows 7 and ubuntu.
As always, thanks for your help.

You should be able to tunnel X Window over ssh using xming or Nomachine nx. Please let us know how it works out for you. Thanks.

Right now I'm heading down the path of cygwin however as I look more at the apps within securityonion I'm realizing that I might not need a full remote desktop. I'll let you know how it goes.
